Job Purpose:
Teach 1 section in Spring 2026 and 1-2 sections in Fall 2026 of ENVS 384/BIOL 344, GIS (3-6 credits). The course must cover: (1) basic mapping and data manipulation techniques required for presenting ecological data; (2) a foundation in ArcGIS Pro and QGIS software packages; (3) manipulation of spatial data to ask scientific questions and as a research tool to answer scientific questions.

Essential Functions:
- For the Gonzaga Environmental Studies Department, a teaching load of 3-6 credits per academic term.
- Hold office hours (amount determined in consultation with Department Chair).
- Create and grade assignments, including submitting grades according to established deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
-M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Biological science, environmental science, geography, or related field.
-Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
-Evidence of the ability to use effective classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance equity, inclusion, and belonging.
