Job Summary
The Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for the Assistant Dean of Assessment. The position is a full-time 12-month administrative faculty position. This position reports to the Dean of the Fisch College of Pharmacy and is a member of the College Leadership Team. The Assistant Dean of Assessment provides key leadership for the comprehensive assessment of the College and will advance the culture of assessment by conducting evaluation and meaningful assessment of the program, curriculum, and institutional effectiveness. By developing initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and facilitate data-informed decisions, the Assistant Dean will foster an environment of operational and educational excellence. The Assistant Dean will have the opportunity to teach and maintain scholarship and/or clinical programs in their respective field. This position's faculty rank and tenure status will be dependent on qualifications. Start date for the position is flexible.

Essential Functions
- Design and lead programmatic assessment that utilizes effective tools and methodologies
- Develop and align policies and processes that enhance assessment practices in the College
- Utilize assessment methods to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement in academic, curricular, and institutional effectiveness
- Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to college, program, and academic processes and outcomes
- Collaborate with the college administrative offices for academic and curricular assessments
- Assist with implementing changes based on assessment findings
- Provide development programs to faculty and staff related to assessment
- Develop and maintain the college assessment plan(s) in conjunction with the Assessment Committee and college and university leadership
- Ensure the alignment of the assessment plan and the college strategic plan
- Ensure compliance with ACPE accreditation standards related to assessment, including accreditation readiness and reporting as assigned
- Serve on college and university committees as assigned, fostering educational effectiveness and continuous improvement
- Maintain affiliation with necessary professional organizations
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in assessment and accreditation
- Represent the college at meetings, conferences, and workshops
- Participate in college activities, meetings, and initiatives expected of college leadership
- Engage in research and scholarship as it relates to assessment
- Positively contribute to the culture of the College
- Perform other duties as requested by the Dean of the College
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- PharmD or PhD degree
- Minimum of five (5) years teaching in PharmD or graduate education
- Experience in assessment and statistics, including assessment methodologies and tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in PharmD education
- Ability to attract and secure funding to support individual or departmental educational, service, and research initiatives
- For those with a PharmD degree, a current Texas pharmacist license, or the ability to acquire within six (6) months of employment.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
