Job Description SummaryThe Associate Chief Revenue Cycle Officer (ACRO) for Medical University of South Carolina Health Enterprise (MUSC Health) is responsible and accountable for the leadership and financial strength stemming from revenue cycle operations across the entire spectrum of MUSC Health. The Revenue Cycle is a critical component of the overall financial performance of a continuously growing enterprise, and it is essential that it operates with efficiency, effectiveness, and a track record of sustained positive patient experience and employee engagement. Maintaining an ongoing collaborative and cohesive effort to integrate front-to-back revenue cycle operations across the enterprise is an integral part of the overall vision and mission of MUSC Health. Job Description
The Associate Chief Revenue Cycle Officer (ACRO) for Medical University of South Carolina Health Enterprise (MUSC Health) is responsible and accountable for the leadership and financial strength stemming from revenue cycle operations across the entire spectrum of MUSC Health. The Revenue Cycle is a critical component of the overall financial performance of a continuously growing enterprise, and it is essential that it operates with efficiency, effectiveness, and a track record of sustained positive patient experience and employee engagement. Maintaining an ongoing collaborative and cohesive effort to integrate front-to-back revenue cycle operations across the enterprise is an integral part of the overall vision and mission of MUSC Health. It is essential that this role perform with the highest level of professionalism.
In addition, this ACRO has direct accountability for the following domains within the Revenue Cycle:
- Hospital Patient Accounting (HPA) - ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections, and financial reporting.
 - Professional Patient Accounting (PPA) - oversight of physician billing and collections functions.
 - Patient Financial Services - leadership of patient account resolution, financial counseling, and service excellence in patient billing interactions.
 - Cash Posting and Special Billing - ensuring the integrity of payment posting processes and the accurate management of specialized billing arrangements.
 
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required and fifteen (15) years of healthcare work experience in the revenue cycle, ten (10) years of experience in a progressive healthcare management role, preferably at a director level. Master's Degree preferred. Epic experience highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of healthcare operating systems and online applications.
Knowledge and understanding of strategic and business planning concepts, practices, and implementation.
Ability to effectively communicate to diverse groups in a variety of mediums (written, oral, presentation).
Advanced interpersonal skills to lead and experience working collaboratively and effectively with multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams, and with executives, providers, and staff at all levels.
Must be able to manage politically sensitive situations.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate autonomous action.
Ability to effectively interact with executive leadership to achieve goals.
