Position Information

High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
Performs manual work in a variety of cleaning and related duties in and around the instructional buildings and facilities on the UGA Griffin Campus. The incumbent will be asked to perform manual work in facilities cleaning, building maintenance and other related duties in and around the UGA Griffin Campus. Primary responsibility is for the effective use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and caring for building areas and equipment. The individual will work under close supervision and follow well established routines and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Ability to understand instructions.
- Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment.
- Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.
- Climb stairs and ladders
- Bend at the waist and knees
- Lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Work from a ladder and work with arms and hands overhead
- Work extended hours at manual tasks.
- Driving as needed to perform job duties

Duties/Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
Perform basic building maintenance such as removing leaves from roofs, cleaning gutters, changing HVAC filters, replacing light bulbs, ceiling tile replacements, unstopping lavatories and toilets and cleanup support for broken pipes, spills, and floods.
Percentage of time 50 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist skilled tradesmen for jobs requiring more than one person for safety and efficiency
Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
Clean and vacuum motor pool vehicles and golf carts.
Percentage of time 5 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with event setups, removal of surplus equipment, moving office furniture and equipment, and campus mail room duties. Reports damage structure and equipment. Perform related duties as assigned.
