Description
We are seeking a Credentialing Coordinator who will coordinate activities for active medical staff and faculty appointments for the Department of Oncology. This position coordinates the academic credentials for faculty, providers, advanced practice providers, postdoctoral fellows, trainees, observers, rotators, medical students, house staff and visiting appointments. Coordinates the medical staff appointments for all credentialed faculty, providers, fellows, medical staff, house staff, and others as needed. In addition, handles visas for credentialed providers, and assists other divisional staff with responsibilities for credentialingSpecific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of appointments and credentialing for faculty, fellows, medical staff, house staff and others.
- Develop, implement and maintain departmental policies and procedures related to executing the credentialing processes in accordance with JHH and JHU School of Medicine policies, government regulations and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Create credentials-related reports for the Administrator, departmental credentials personnel, division chiefs, search committees, etc.
- Educate and inform faculty and division personnel about credentialing policies and procedures.
- Create manuals, flow charts and other educational material related to the credentialing effort in the department.
- Maintain existing database and support the automation of the credentialing and medical staff process for the department.
- Maintain the SharePoint site with updated credentialing and medical staff information.
- Lead the full-cycle process for medical staff appointments in conjunction with the department credentialing staff.
- Lead the full-cycle process for academic appointments in conjunction with the appropriate academic administration staff.
- Lead the full-cycle process for fellows, observers, rotators, trainees and visiting appointments (clinical and academic).
- Lead the visa process in conjunction with the Office of International Services, Office of General Counsel and HR.
- Liaison with divisional HR on faculty, fellows, providers, advanced practice providers, house staff and others on appointments and status.
- Lead the reappointment and review process.
- Lead the database process for all appointment types, terminations, and resignations.
- Support the department credentialing staff and the Administrator regarding all medical staff appointments for initial appointments and assist with reappointments.
- Interpret JHH Medical Staff Administration and SOM faculty- and fellow-related policies for the division chiefs, division administrators, and individual faculty and medical staff members.
- Maintain and modify departmental databases that integrate appointment, credentials, historical information, etc. for all department faculty and others.
- Maintain the electronic files for all appointment types.
- Create and maintain tracking processes for all appointment types.
- Provide regular updates on status of appointments.
- Serve as liaison between the Oncology department and JHH Medical Staff Administration, the School of Medicine Dean's Office, Registrar's Office, Post Doctoral Office and the JHU Office of International Services, and other stakeholders.
- Provide information to the departmental billing staff about prospective medial staff appointments.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent
- Three years of related experience
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in an academic or academic medical setting.

Salary Range
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University's salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

Vaccine Requirements
Johns Hopkins University requires all faculty, staff, and students to receive the seasonal flu vaccine. Exceptions to the flu vaccine requirements may be provided to individuals for religious beliefs or medical reasons. Requests for an exception must be submitted to the JHU vaccination registry.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
