The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) invites applications for a full-time faculty position. We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative physician to join our growing academic department dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and research.
The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University is the state of Georgia's only public medical school and ranks nationally as the 8th largest U.S. medical school by enrollment. The impact spans from its founding nearly 200 years ago, in 1828, as one of the nation's first medical schools to its current role optimizing health and health care in Georgia and beyond through education, discovery, and service.
Position Highlights:
- Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor, commensurate with experience
- Opportunities to teach and mentor residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers
- Participation in innovative research and quality improvement initiatives
- State-of-the-art facilities including a Level I trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, ACC accredited chest pain center, and the Children’s Hospital of Georgia
- High acuity ED with an annual volume of 80K specializing in caring for critically ill and injured patients
Requirements
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree with board certification/eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Georgia
- Strong commitment to clinical excellence, education, and scholarly activity
- Strong service orientation and commitment to teamwork
- Strong organizational and managerial skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
