Summary

This role oversees financial administration, budget management, and facilities operations to ensure the Laboratory runs efficiently. The position also supervises students/staff members and serves as a key liaison with university departments, including RASU, Accounting, Payroll, and Human Resources.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to think strategically regarding financial matters.
• Ability to supervise employees and students.

• Ability to communicate effectively.

• Must be highly organized and self-motivated, able to work independently.

• Ability to monitor and assist in the preparation of a budget.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

• Expert in time management and flexibility with multiple demands.

• Ability to establish work assignment priorities and perform duties independently, without immediate or constant supervision.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

Required Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance
• At least 2 years of accounting or financial experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Business Administration
• Coursework in Accounting

• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

• Working knowledge of Tulane systems: Banner, TAMS, HCM, KRONOS, COGNOS, CONCUR, E-IT, and INTERFOLIO.

• Experience in an academic setting, working with students, faculty, and other members of the university community.

• Bilingual verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
