2025-2026 Faculty Search
The Department of Computer Science at The University of Alabama (UA) is seeking outstanding applicants for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks. Candidates with research interests in all areas of computer science are encouraged to apply. Candidates with particular research emphasis and interests in the areas of Quantum Information Systems, High-Performance Computing, and Augmented/Virtual Reality are of particular interest for one or more of these positions and thus are strongly encouraged to apply.
Candidates with prestigious achievements in their field and exceptional national and international reputations will be eligible for consideration for significant endowment support through the new $100 million Shelby Endowment for Distinguished Faculty at UA and can be appointed as an Endowed Shelby Distinguished Associate Professor or Professor (https://provost.ua.edu/the-shelby-endowment-for-distinguished-faculty/) as appropriate.

A position start date of Aug. 16, 2026, would be typical, but flexibility with respect to start date is possible.
