Description
Capital Planning and Facilities (CPF) works to ensure that Indiana University (IU) campuses are beautiful, functional, and sustainable supporting excellence in teaching, learning, research, and community engagement across the entire university. A unit within CPF, Facility Operations , maintains our physical campus to support research, teaching, and learning at Indiana University Bloomington. As a unit of Capital Planning and Facilities, Facility Operations provides wide-ranging services all with the goal of creating a beautiful, well-functioning campus.Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Manages procurement process of furniture and finishes
- Plans and designs for basic and complex interior spaces from design conception; draws plans, establishes specifications, analyzes available space, provides project analysis, and determines furniture layouts and/or finishes specifications
- Develops and presents proposals, plans and specifications, cost estimates, and budget recommendations
- Coordinates with internal CPF design team members, contractors, vendors, and other campus representatives
- Prepares cost estimates and budget recommendation
- Manages a small project, from start to finish, or 1 phase of a large project, ensuring on time completion within budget
- Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks, forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls
- Reports on progress and provides regular updates to upper management
- Coordinates and communicates between various areas; conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure that project objectives are achieved within established time frames
- May provide guidance and support to non-exempt staff

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary
$53,000 per year
