About Westchester Community College:Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Job Description:
The Part-Time Program Specialist (WCC) / Regional Resource Coordinator will support the coordination and implementation of activities and events for the New York Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Hub, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Working directly with the Division Coordinator and internal staff, this position will help organize the Hub's Community of Practice (COP) initiatives, including virtual and in-person professional development workshops, national webinars, advisory council meetings, and the annual regional conference.
Key responsibilities include arranging event venues; managing a growing contact list; meeting invites and notes; securing resources and materials; organizing travel; processing stipends and reimbursements; and tracking related expenses. The position will also assist with website development and maintenance, design e-newsletters and social media content, and assist the Division Coordinator in gathering and curating Community College STEM-related content.
The incumbent will ensure consistent and effective communication among Principal Investigators, the Division Coordinator, internal project staff, external partners, and participating faculty and staff, helping to foster engagement and collaboration across the Hub's network.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience with digital platforms (including website design and management), event coordination in an academic setting, and collaboration with faculty and staff, along with excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, workforce development training, or in the analysis of program operations, marketing or customer services are required.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and evidence of equity-minded practice.
Additional Information:
WORK SCHEDULE: This is an on-campus position for 23 hours per week.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $34.60/hour. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
