Job DescriptionThe School of Medicine - Clinical Departments - Diagnostic Radiology for the University of Maryland, Baltimore is recruiting for a contractual Radiology Clinical Research Assistant. The selected candidate will assist the department with clinical and basic/translational research projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Responsible for facilitating and coordinating clinical research radiology report completion and data collection. The position will support the conduct of clinical trials, including supporting the radiologists, scheduling, and preparing for radiology report completion, assisting with data collection and clarification, and general administrative duties.
- The ideal candidate will have strong interests in computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, PET imaging, clinical trials, and patient outcomes-based retrospective/prospective research such as in oncology.
- Manage and enter clinical research data into respective databases. Assist with other tasks for research imaging including analyzing clinical scans for markers of treatment or disease. Experience with medical imaging preferred, but not required.
- Assist in the preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) protocol development and ensure compliance of research operations with protocols. May assist in developing and recommending policies and procedures and/or design methods for clinical research activities.
- Coordinate paperwork for submission of IRB protocol, IRB amendments, and IRB continuing reviews. Document and report all adverse events as appropriate. Participates in audits and monitor visits as needed according to policy.
- Assists in the processing of research billing or invoices.
- Maintains research database. Generates statistical reports on a variety of research related activities.
- Document in accordance with state and federal standards pertaining to specific research participant enrolled in the study. Maintain communication with colleagues regarding protocol specific information and research orders. Provide assessments and ensure protocol compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study related to the research of the clinical setting.
Preferred Experience: One to two (2) years of experience in research including clinical research.
Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.

Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are not eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit (Union).
Salary Range: $48,000 - $53,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
