Job DescriptionThe University of Alabama at Birmingham ( UAB ) is accepting applications for a full-time, twelve-month faculty position, non-tenure track at the rank of assistant professor in the Physician Associate Studies Program (PA), located within the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences ( CDS ), in the School of Health Professions ( SHP ).
The PA program is seeking a principal faculty member to join its energetic and cohesive faculty team. We are seeking individuals who highly regard opportunities for community service, outreach, and engagement. The candidate's primary responsibilities will include working collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Education to assist in developing the clinical-year schedule and working collaboratively with the Program Director and Associate Program Director to assist in coordinating the clinical curriculum. Additional responsibilities will include providing instruction to students completing the didactic curriculum, as well as participating in scholarly activities and providing mentorship and advisement to PA students. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years' clinical experience in any of the following areas: hospitalist, primary care, emergency medicine, and/or critical care.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess at least a master's degree in a related health sciences discipline and have either a minimum of two years' experience serving as a preceptor for PA or medical students or two years' experience in academia. Salary, academic rank, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
