Job DescriptionAsst/Assoc/Full-Professor applications are invited for a new full-time, tenure-earning Forensic Pathology faculty position. The University of Alabama at Birmingham is an outstanding academic medical center and tertiary care institution. The successful candidate will join the Division of Forensic Pathology and its four full-time faculty members who perform clinical and teaching services. Through a contract with Jefferson County, the UAB Forensic Pathology faculty provide pathology medical services for the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner Office. The Medical Examiner's office performs approximately 6,500 death investigations, 850 complete autopsies, and 450 detailed external examinations per year. The Division offers a one-year accredited Fellowship in Forensic Pathology. The position reports to the Director of the Forensic Division of the Department of Pathology.
Required Qualifications
Minimum requirements include an M.D. degree, license to practice in Alabama, and eligibility for board certification in Anatomic and Forensic Pathology. Salary, rank, and tenure-status are commensurate with qualifications and experience
