Job DescriptionThe Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology at the University of Alabama ( UAB ) School of Medicine seeks a full-time, faculty position for a licensed, or Alabama license eligible, Clinical Psychologist in the Division of Adult Psychiatry. Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree and an internship from APA or CPA -accredited program. This is a non-tenure track faculty position. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing evidence-based interventions for a broad range of psychiatric disorders in adults 18 and older. Applicants with a specialty interest in Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Trauma, or DBT are especially encouraged to apply. Clinical work will include some combination of assessments and intervention based on training and specific interest. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our highly trained Psychology faculty, Licensed Independent Social Workers, Psychiatry Nurse Practitioners, and Psychiatry Faculty to manage patient care and promote the mission of the department. Currently, services are being offered both in-person and virtually.
Psychologists in the Department of Psychiatry are also expected to participate in educational activities. The educational opportunities include teaching and supervision of graduate students, psychology interns, psychology post-doctoral trainees, and psychiatry residents and fellows.
