Job DescriptionThe Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham ( UAB ) is seeking exceptional physician faculty (MD or MD/PhD) for an open-rank and open tenure, full-time position. Academic rank, tenure status, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology
• Eligible for Alabama medical licensure
• Strong clinical acumen and commitment to high-quality, compassionate care
• Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset
• Experience in proton therapy and/or brachytherapy is encouraged but not required

Recently, UAB expanded further by acquiring five hospitals from the Ascension St. Vincent's Health System. This acquisition added 5,000 employees, 409 beds, and outpatient facilities, which include hospitals in Birmingham, Blount, Chilton, East, and St. Clair counties; the One Nineteen campus; the Trussville Freestanding Emergency Department; imaging centers; and other clinics.

Required Qualifications
Clinician candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in radiation oncology and eligible to be licensed in Alabama. Candidates must have strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, and be compassionate towards all patients.
