Job Overview
This position is responsible for maintaining and controlling financial records while ensuring compliance with university policies and requirements. The role includes performing advanced accounting functions, developing and maintaining accounting systems, preparing integrated financial reports, and serving as a financial liaison across university offices and units by providing analysis and insight into operational performance.
Essential Functions
- Oversee daily processing and accounting functions; ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with university, local, state and federal requirements and standard accounting and audit procedures including all compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Monitor and interpret key financial data in the development of cost analysis and reports.
- Develop, analyze, establish, and maintain accounting systems.
- Perform internal auditing or financial records and act as lead. Interface with internal and external auditors.
- Prepare integrated financial and statistical reports, statements and projections and recommendations presented to leadership.
- Recommend accounting and control systems.
- Accounting and financial liaison with other university offices.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree must be in Accounting or related field.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of accounting related work experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Fund accounting experience.
- SAP financial software experience.
- Intermediate user of Microsoft products.

- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
