Description
The IU3D team in UITS Research Technologies is dedicated to 3D digitization of a diverse set of interior and exterior spaces and terrains across IU, Indiana, and beyond. These 3D datasets are used as virtual tours for recruitment and outreach as well as for research, education, analysis, documentation and digital preservation.Job Summary
Come help us scan your world and share your world! The IU3D team in UITS Research Technologies is seeking a student intern to create ADA accessible versions of our 3D assets.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Edits existing videos to include closed captioning and text to voice for accessibility.
- Creates new accessible assets from existing 3D spatial tours.
- Develops accessible content for of 3D objects as requested.
- Leverages personal expertise to improve IU3D's current accessible video production.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Current IU student with an interest in 3D modeling, animation, and video production
- Currently enrolled in Media Arts and Science or similar as a major or minor
Required
- Experience with media production
Required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with listening skills
- Maintains a high degree of professionalism
- Knowledge with video editing and production software (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred)
- Experience using 3D CAD / Modeling software
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
