- Tenure-Track: Assistant Professor - Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution (Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology Program)
Description
The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full-time tenure-track position at the assistant professor level with a 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning fall 2026. The successful applicant will be required to teach at the graduate as well as undergraduate level; advise and mentor graduate students; develop an independent, externally funded research program; participate in all aspects of the department's activities; and serve the university, college, department, and profession.
Requirements
Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in an appropriate engineering field or a closely related engineering or science discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with recent and relevant practical experience in applied research and technology development in the areas of advanced manufacturing systems including design/modeling/control of manufacturing systems, cyber-physical systems, applied AI, smart manufacturing and data-driven discovery/optimization, among others. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience working in or with industry or government entities like national labs is preferred.
