Reports to: Assistant Dean, Testing and Assessment
Salary Grade: Hourly ( maximum of 24 hours per week). The Testing Center typically operates Monday-Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.

About This Role
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Testing & Assessment, the Testing Assistant/Proctor will play an integral role in supporting onsite, offsite, and remote placement and assessment activities. This on-site position requires daytime office coverage Monday-Friday with occasional evening and Saturday shifts to support peak registration or Enrollment events. The Testing Assistant/Proctor is responsible for the administration of the college placement and other standardized exams (i.e. Accuplacer, NLN PAX, ATI TEAS, and CLEP) and works closely with prospective and current students to provide information on study resources, schedules, and registration.
What Youll Need
- Associates degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience.
- Bilingual (English/Arabic preferred).
- Experience working with first-generation, non-traditional, and multilingual college or adult students.
- Experience with Ellucian or similar higher education platforms.
- Proficiency with various computer software programs (MS Office Suite).
- Strong work ethic: Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence and emotional intelligence. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Fast-paced environment: Ability to work in a quiet, structured testing environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail; ability to prioritize while handling frequent interruptions, balancing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Flexible schedule and access to reliable transportation: Schedules are set by the Testing Center; occasional evenings and Saturdays required during peak registration, including travel to other HCCC campuses and local high schools.
- Exam integrity: Assists with student check-in/valid photo ID verification for both computerized and paper-pencil exams; monitors test-takers throughout the exam session and reports any exam irregularity to Coordinator and/ or Testing Managers.
- Inclusive testing environment: Creates an inclusive testing environment that accommodates student with diverse needs while adhering to FERPA and ADA guidelines.
- Customer Service & Communication: Provides clear and courteous in-person, phone, email assistance to students, faculty, and staff regarding testing scheduling, policies, and procedures.
- Technical support: Assists with data entry of assessment scores and multiple measures into Colleague. Daily preparation of testing stations in accordance to exam/vendor guidelines; assists student with login issues and troubleshoots online assessments settings; management of reporting systems to support enrollment work flows.
- Physical demands: Frequent movement and multi-tasking between front desk and testing area operations; ability to lift/carry light equipment or supplies under 10 lbs.
