Salary Range: $1,485.00 per credit for MA/MS; $1,686.00 per credit for Ph.D. or Terminal Degree. Labs are compensated at a rate of 1.5 credits per section.

Job Purpose:
Gonzaga University is searching for adjunct instructors to join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for the upcoming semester. Teaching duties will include general chemistry lab(s). Ideal applicants will demonstrate a commitment to promoting inclusive and equity-minded learning environments and the potential for excellence in teaching undergraduates from a variety of backgrounds and identities, including those historically marginalized in the sciences (e.g., first-generation students, students from low-income families, students of color, LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities). Total teaching load will be up to 3-5 labs for the semester.

Essential Functions:
- Teach general chemistry labs, following the lab syllabus, sequencing, structure, and guidance provided by the Department Chair - (Essential)
- Grade lab-related materials, attend weekly meetings with the General Chemistry team, submit grades in a timely manner - (Essential)
- Hold weekly office hours (amount determined in consultation with Department Chair - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications:
-M.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related field
-Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
-Evidence of the ability to use effective classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. (or equivalent) in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related field

In-Office Presence - Ability to work on-site in typical office setting and participate in in-person meetings with colleagues: 5 days/week
