Job Description:
Budget title: Instructional Support Associate (SL-2)
Salary: $51,261
Binghamton University, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the America East Conference, is seeking an Assistant Coordinator for Facilities, Operations and Procurement position.
This position will:
- Assist with scheduling, contracts and invoicing for all camps, clinics, and fundraisers
- Oversee all aspects of internal and external facility rentals including revocable permits, staffing, billing, post-event recap, etc.
- Provide support with athletic facility scheduling including intercollegiate team practices, university users, and outside organization users
- Serve as a direct supervisor for a variety of student staff and professional, experienced event staff; including oversight of advertising, hiring, scheduling, payroll, and evaluation
- Participate in all aspects of athletic facility, event and operations logistics, which could include but are not limited to: field and venue preparation, event setup and teardown, operating athletic equipment, snow removal, set-up/removal of signage, preparing for visiting team/official arrival, etc.
- Serve as a liaison for Binghamton Athletics to spectators, competitors, vendors, officials, volunteers, etc.
- Serve as game/event manager, as assigned by supervisor, for designated home athletic/non-athletic events, any/all post-season competition, and all basketball games
- Meet with clients and/or university officials and submit service requests accordingly
- Assist with scheduling and maintenance of all department owned/leased vans
- Oversee internal (ID card) access control system for all athletic facilities
- Physically receive all department apparel and equipment orders (West Gym B150) and upload spreadsheet with order information confirming what has been received
- Submit Service Requests as needed
- Attend training, safety programs, and meetings as designated by the supervisor
- Uphold all NCAA, New York State, Binghamton University, and Athletic Department rules and regulations while remaining in compliance with Division 1 athletics and NCAA legislation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher)
- At least two years of experience in athletic facility and event management
- Experience supervising/managing professional and/or student events staff
- Understanding of athletic games, events, and competitions
- Ability to work longs hours, in an ever-changing work environment; including standing, sitting, lifting in all weather conditions
- Non-traditional work schedule; must be able and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred:
- Experience in NCAA division 1 athletics and/or other athletic venues
- Experience executing contracts, invoices, and budgeting
- The ability to setup, troubleshoot and operate various scoring systems, videoboards, public address systems and athletic equipment
- Knowledge of athletic facilities, events, and competitions; including event operations and maintenance equipment including methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in athletic facilities and events
