Parkland Health is seeking experienced attorneys to join our Legal Affairs team. We are hiring two Associate General Counsel positions, each supporting a different area of our organization. Both roles provide strategic legal counsel to one of the nation's largest public academic health systems while partnering closely with executive leadership and operational teams.
Associate General Counsel – Healthcare Operations & Regulatory
This attorney serves as the primary legal advisor supporting Parkland's hospital and health system operations.

This position partners with operational leaders across the organization to provide practical legal guidance that supports strategic initiatives while minimizing legal and regulatory risk.
Associate General Counsel – Managed Care
This attorney serves as the primary legal advisor supporting Parkland's managed care operations, including both the health system and Parkland's HMO.

Shared Responsibilities
Both Associate General Counsel positions will:
- Provide strategic legal advice to executive leadership and operational teams.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex healthcare contracts and business agreements.
- Advise on federal and state healthcare regulations.
- Support governance activities and Board initiatives.
- Manage internal investigations and regulatory matters.
- Coordinate litigation and oversee outside counsel as needed.
- Identify legal risks and recommend practical business solutions.
- Participate in Legal Affairs initiatives and attorney on-call rotation.
- Build strong partnerships with internal clients across Parkland.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of legal practice.
Healthcare Operations candidates should have experience in:
- Hospital operations
- Healthcare regulatory compliance
- Labor & employment
- Medical malpractice
- Litigation
- Commercial contracting
- Risk management
- Government or public healthcare entities
Managed Care candidates should have experience in:
- Managed care
- Health plan operations

- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Licensure
Current Texas law license in good standing, or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure through Admission Without Examination within nine months of hire.
