Job DescriptionThe Department of Marketing, Industrial Distribution and Economics ( MIDE ) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in Marketing, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. The primary teaching responsibilities for this position are in digital and social media marketing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Only applicants holding a terminal degree in Marketing or a closely related field will be considered for the Assistant Teaching Professor designation. A history of demonstrated instructional success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels will be especially well regarded.
This position carries a standard 4/4 teaching load. Although the position is non-tenure earning, candidates who maintain an active research agenda consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) status will be eligible for a one course load reduction.
Depending on departmental needs, ability to teach additional marketing courses, such as Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, or Marketing Analytics is also desirable.
Required Qualifications
1. Hold a doctorate in marketing or a closely related field, or have completed all degree requirements by their effective start date;
2. Demonstrate excellence in teaching and curriculum development, particularly in digital and social media marketing;
3. Actively contribute to and support the department's strategic growth initiatives; and
4. Preferably possess two or more years of relevant industry experience.
