Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

• Evaluation and management of patients with chronic and advanced liver disease
• Outpatient hepatology clinic support and longitudinal patient management
• Management of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD/NAFLD)
• Evaluation of elevated liver enzymes and abnormal liver imaging findings
• Care of patients with viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, alcohol-associated liver disease, and cirrhosis
• Participation in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) surveillance and care coordination
• Assistance with liver transplant evaluation and pre-transplant optimization
• Participation in post-transplant longitudinal follow-up care
• Coordination of multidisciplinary care across hepatology, transplant surgery, oncology, interventional radiology, nutrition, social work, and case management
• Transitional care and hospital discharge coordination
• Patient and family education related to chronic liver disease and transplant care
• Collaboration with inpatient GI and advanced endoscopy services as needed

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Eligibility for Louisiana licensure and credentialing
• DEA registration (or eligibility)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills
• Interest in hepatology, transplant medicine, and complex chronic disease management
