Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Visiting Instructor of Music, Voice Specialist. This is a nine-month faculty position with an anticipated starting date of September 1, 2026. In addition to assisting in the administration of the Voice Area, the candidate will teach voice lessons and other topics matching the candidate’s interest and expertise. This position will also require recruiting students.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in voice performance or comparable degree required; DMA/ABD or comparable degree preferred. Those who are skilled in Tenor/Baritone/Bass ranges and repertoire preferred, but all voice types are encouraged to apply. Evidence of performance excellence and teaching experience strongly preferred, as is the ability to work and teach in both bel canto and popular styles (pop/rock, jazz, country, musical theatre).
The successful candidate will be able to teach applied lessons in voice performance to a range of majors and non-majors. In addition, the candidate will teach a voice studio class and assist in organizing the Voice Studio Recital and vocal juries once a quarter. The candidate may also be asked to teach group voice classes for non-majors and/or other courses for which they may be qualified.
