Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Manager, Wellness Center promotes center's activities; monitors equipment and suggests replacement as needed; tracks, analyzes, and reports center's usage; schedules and supervises part-time staff in the Center's front desk and weight room; tracks and reports all part-time hours; schedules faculty hours in Center; schedules and staffs group fitness classes; teaches 1-2 group fitness classes per semester; monitors Center's budget; ensures effective and efficient operation of the Center; trains staff and faculty on Wellness Center safety; organizes a `Wellness Center Advisory Team' to help give direction to the Wellness Center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitors processes, materials, or surroundings
- Assists in providing budget management and oversight for the department
- Supervises the purchasing of goods and services
- Oversees the daily office operations for departments related to business services
- Ensures confidentiality of information is maintained
- Understands and applies policies and procedures
- Writes and implements procedures for daily operations
- Coordinates with internal and external personnel to accomplish activities
- Hires, trains, and assigns duties for full-time and part-time employees
- Guides, directs, and motivates subordinates
- Schedules work, organizing, planning, and prioritizing work
- Has accountability for all duties of subordinate.
- Supervises subordinates, providing positive attitude and ethics
- Supervises completion of hiring paperwork
- Evaluates performance of those reporting to the position
- Creates strategies to increase employee awareness and to promote productivity
- Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to meet specific deadlines on a daily basis
· Ability to respond to emergency calls as needed
· Excellent written and communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills
· Ability to work in a diverse college setting
· Intermediates skills in computer and database applications
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary
Hiring salary range is $54,528 - $62,707
Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
