Victory Christian Academy is hiring a 7th and 8th grade Math/Science Teacher!
Victory Christian Academy (VCA) is a Christ-centered institution dedicated to providing a nurturing and faith-based educational environment where students grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, and physically. We seek passionate educators who are committed to excellence in teaching and discipleship. VCA is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Teacher to join our faculty. The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction fostering curiosity and critical thinking. The ideal candidate will integrate Christian principles into their teaching while maintaining high academic standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement curriculum that align with federal, state, and VCA educational standards.
Teach engaging lessons using hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and technology.
Teach engaging lessons and problem-solving.
Encourage student enthusiasm for inquiry and the development of critical thinking skills.
Integrate a Christ-centered approach in all curriculum and teaching materials.
Identify learning obstacles and provide academic, emotional, and spiritual support.
Prepare and maintain an "In My Absence" binder with lesson plans and essential instructions for substitutes.
Monitor student use of technology for academic purposes.
Establish and enforce clear classroom procedures and expectations.
Implement a structured discipline plan to address and modify student behavior.
Work collaboratively with educational aides, faculty, and administration to support student success.
Supervise students throughout the school day in designated areas.
Demonstrate fairness, love, and Christ-centered discipline.
Attend staff meetings, weekly grade level meetings, and professional development sessions.
Participate in team collaboration and school accreditation efforts.
Commit to continuous improvement through professional growth and learning.
Maintain accurate academic and behavioral records for each student.
Communicate with parents regularly regarding student progress and concerns.
Submit progress reports, report cards, and other documentation in a timely manner.
Use professional and respectful communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
Adhere to mandatory reporting policies and maintain student confidentiality.
Follow VCA policies and guidelines as outlined in employee and student handbooks.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Assist with student supervision during lunch, chapel, recess, and other activities.
Participate in at least two school-sponsored recruitment events.
Serve as an ambassador for VCA in the school and community.
Model Christian values in personal and professional behavior.
Demonstrate high ethical and moral standards in decision-making and interactions.
Participate in regular classroom observations and performance reviews.
Work closely with the Dean of Instruction to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Receive formal evaluations as outlined in the Teacher Supervision Plan.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Wisconsin teaching certification is preferred, not required
Teaching experience in middle school, preferably in a Christian school setting.
Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Commitment to Christian education and integration of faith in teaching
