Position Description:
The Department of Engineering Fundamentals at the University of Louisville invites applications for part time lecture for the fall 2026 term (August 15th - December 13th) The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Quality and Lean Systems (AE 313) and supporting final course development of Digital Electronics (AE 224).
The Applied Engineering Program is housed in the Department of Engineering Fundamentals. The Engineering Fundamentals Department is comprised of faculty who teach common core courses taken by all entering engineering students. In their first four semesters, engineering students take 18 hours of courses from the Department of Engineering Fundamentals, including Engineering Methods, Tools and Practice I and II and calculus-based Engineering Analysis courses. Most courses have many sections and multiple instructors who collaborate to work as instructional teams to maintain consistency of learning outcomes across courses and support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, including working with a diverse population.
- Experience in engineering graphical drawing and computer-aided design
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and student success
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and interest interacting with first-year college students or similar population
- Experience teaching Quality and Lean systems.
- Interest and experience using evidence-based teaching practices and active learning
- Interest and experience in continuous course improvement based on scholarship of teaching and learning
