Description
We are seeking to hire a Research Data Analyst to contribute to metabolomics, proteomics, nutritional epidemiology, and chronic disease epidemiology research at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The Research Data Analyst will work on both cohort studies [e.g., Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study, Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort (CRIC) study] and trials [Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH), DASH-Sodium, EAT-Plants].The Research Data Analyst will provide data analysis and related activities for various types of research projects and studies. The Research Data Analyst will contribute to ongoing development, maintenance, and use of a research data pipeline that collects and analyzes data.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Collect data and generate reports and models.
- Run models, analyze model results, and prepare reports on the analysis.
- Conduct analyses in support of the assigned research project or study.
- Conduct statistical analyses using standard and statistical software packages.
- Design and prepare tables to illustrate analytic findings.
- Manage or contribute to entry of data in the assigned database.
- May engage in other research related responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties described above
- Conduct literature searches and summarize relevant literature with a focus on nutritional epidemiology, omics, and mechanisms of disease.
- Manage data, including cleaning, restructuring, and merging datasets, as well as store data, code, and other project-related files on a shared network drive in accordance with best practices and policies for data protection.
- Conduct statistical analyses of cohort studies and trials of diet interventions, in collaboration with a biostatistician. Assist with the interpretation of statistical results.
- Contribute to writing scientific manuscripts for publication and prepare presentations for disseminating results at seminars and conferences.
- Participate in regular meetings for the Nutritional Omics Research Group and contribute to project management, including tracking progress, following up with faculty and staff, and preparing meeting notes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
- Three years of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in coding in R and/or Stata
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Co-author on peer-reviewed publications
- Knowledge and experience in nutritional epidemiology
- Experience in nutritional omics research
- Experience in collaborative research
