Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.
The Department of Society, History, and Culture at Kutztown University invites applications for a 1/2-time fall temporary History position at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level for the Fall 2026 semester.
Candidates must have the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate history courses in their discipline, particularly introductory courses in world history. The part-time temporary position has a regular teaching load of 6 hours per week. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master's degree in History
- Candidates must have the ability to integrate the use of technology into all courses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in History or ABD with defense scheduled
- Two years of teaching history at the collegiate level
- Preference will be given to applicants showing evidence of strong teaching
